Artist Statement
My Senior Ex juxtaposes from Myoung Ho Lee’s work, interpreting Vivaldis “The Four Seasons” in a modern aspect. Combining landscape, instraments, color, and fashion. The idea occurred when I realized that “The Four Seasons” from Vivaldis works ovbiously relates to the Seasons in reality. Incorperating color, fashion, and landscape to depict the literal concept of “The Four Seasons.” It was a simple idea but complex when acctually doing the work. A few factors almost threw me off from doing something different formy senior ex but realizing that “The Four Seasons” was acctually easy to interpret with the time of day it is, as well as the time of day it is.
My art displays a high fashion eloquence to it since the models were wearing a dress or something semiformal rather than something simple or casual. Being a visual artist was a extreme challenge for me as well coming from the music department when ive focused all around in the music area since I was four years old. Of course my theme had to colaborate with music because music plays a big role in my life. Being in my second year of the visual arts department I really had a challenge to do my senior ex. To do “The Four Seasons” and interpret music in some way of course was to not only show the literal concept, but to as well to show my love and devotion for music since its my passion.
Myoung Ho Lee, Born in Daejong Korea studied art for more than half of his life. In 2004 he received his BA in the Fine Arts and then later worked to receive his masters then his PH.D in 2008 in the fine arts. It was also in 2008 where Myoung Ho Lee was recongnized for his gallery work “Trees”. Portraying trees in with a white canvas behind it to display the details of a tree. Common with my idea; simple but complex in process. The white background of the trees was to enhance the beauty of nature for what it really is. The white background helped displayed the details of the tree to really look at it for what it is. I liked Myoung Ho Lee’s work because it was simple and clean portraying the aspects of nature on a white canvas, almost like it was a painting.
The purpose of my work was to combine the nature elements with the idea of music incorperated to display my love and affection for music. The models are very intertwined with playing the instrament and expressing what it is they do. The viewer of the art piece will be captured within the portrait to get the feeling that there listening to the piece “The Four Seasons” from Vivaldi. Its like taking them into a concert hall to listen to the movements of Vivaldis works.

Senior Ex final deadline (2/5)
This is a portrait shot of nathan shot outside in the daylight where it comes out pretty due to lighting. What I like about this picture is the angle Nathan was shot and the lighting. This could continue to be torwards my Four seasons theme but personally I dont think it could pass for it due to clothing and what not. But overall I do like this picture
