Period 7 final "A walk through nature"

Inspired by Ashley J, Jaida S, and Briana H.
I wanted to do something similar to their senior ex because I became fascinated with the textures and landscape shots they have caught. A stroll through the neighborhood and school was quite enough for me to find something of interest. Of course though I didnt wanna just do colored I wanted to do black and white as well. From the mornings of SCPA to the afternoon walks through my neighborhood there was something I could of found and I got my hands dirty by mimicking the 3 girls I mentioned earlier just took the landscape aspect into my ideal minds and changed it to be my own.

Period 5 Final "K-no Cakes"

From the beginning of the school year I have found more of an interest in baking sweets that every one craves or loves. It took me a while to perfect my interpretation of Red velvet. Probably went through 7 recipes and found a final one and sparked its flavors. Even through cream cheese it took a while to find the right texture and then spark the sweetness well enough. Here I display my most favorite things ive made this school year. The oreo truffles (shot in white florescent lighting) Red velvet balls (also shoot in florescent lighting) and my most favorite of all which was inspired by sprinkles cupcakes, Red Velvet (shot in natural lighting) I feel as if I were to open a bakery or some kind of cafe I would feature my best works that I took a long while to perfect. Why K-no? Its similar to my last name just pronounced differently thats all.

Period 1 Final "Scholar Ship students"

For My Final in Period 1, a group of students including myself decided to do portraits of those artist who received scholar ships for the academics or arts or even better, both categories. The model I decided to use to display her well is Tashia Williams. She has received scholar ships for her profound art work. As both of us are artist, I wanted to not only capture a portrait of her but as well as depict one of her pieces that she has displayed for her senior ex. On the left of the page we have her painting of her self portrait walking though woods. On the right we have a imitation through the lens perspective. The middle photo is a portrait picture of her taken in its natural environment. Ive noticed with tashias work ethics, she loves to include nature in some way. So to portray her as a visual artist, I had to add her into her natural surroundings. Photoshop was used to enhance the lighting to as well as bring out the details with the surroundings. By enhancing the lighting, I was then able to sharpen up the picture to really make her pop out. we shot for a good 30 mins and I personally find this shot to be the most interesting out of the many photos we have taken together.

Artist Statement

My Senior Ex juxtaposes from Myoung Ho Lee’s work, interpreting Vivaldis “The Four Seasons” in a modern aspect. Combining landscape, instraments, color, and fashion. The idea occurred when I realized that “The Four Seasons” from Vivaldis works ovbiously relates to the Seasons in reality. Incorperating color, fashion, and landscape to depict the literal concept of “The Four Seasons.” It was a simple idea but complex when acctually doing the work. A few factors almost threw me off from doing something different formy senior ex but realizing that “The Four Seasons” was acctually easy to interpret with the time of day it is, as well as the time of day it is.

My art displays a high fashion eloquence to it since the models were wearing a dress or something semiformal rather than something simple or casual. Being a visual artist was a extreme challenge for me as well coming from the music department when ive focused all around in the music area since I was four years old. Of course my theme had to colaborate with music because music plays a big role in my life. Being in my second year of the visual arts department I really had a challenge to do my senior ex. To do “The Four Seasons” and interpret music in some way of course was to not only show the literal concept, but to as well to show my love and devotion for music since its my passion.

Myoung Ho Lee, Born in Daejong Korea studied art for more than half of his life. In 2004 he received his BA in the Fine Arts and then later worked to receive his masters then his PH.D in 2008 in the fine arts. It was also in 2008 where Myoung Ho Lee was recongnized for his gallery work “Trees”. Portraying trees in with a white canvas behind it to display the details of a tree. Common with my idea; simple but complex in process. The white background of the trees was to enhance the beauty of nature for what it really is. The white background helped displayed the details of the tree to really look at it for what it is. I liked Myoung Ho Lee’s work because it was simple and clean portraying the aspects of nature on a white canvas, almost like it was a painting.

The purpose of my work was to combine the nature elements with the idea of music incorperated to display my love and affection for music. The models are very intertwined with playing the instrament and expressing what it is they do. The viewer of the art piece will be captured within the portrait to get the feeling that there listening to the piece “The Four Seasons” from Vivaldi. Its like taking them into a concert hall to listen to the movements of Vivaldis works.

Senior Ex final deadline (2/5)

Model: Nathan Steingberg

This is a portrait shot of nathan shot outside in the daylight where it comes out pretty due to lighting. What I like about this picture is the angle Nathan was shot and the lighting. This could continue to be torwards my Four seasons theme but personally I dont think it could pass for it due to clothing and what not. But overall I do like this picture
